The Police in Vancouver - King of Pain
|
When tickets went on sale for The Police, I got tickets to see them in Oakland on the 13th of June 2007. That was the only date they announced for the Northern California area, and I assumed this would be my only opportunity to see them perform. But then I got an email from The Police fan club, which read as follows: "The Police will play a FAN CLUB show before they kick off their world tour in Vancouver! - This incredible event will take place on: Sun. May 27 - Vancouver, BC at GM Place @ 7:30 pm local time...Since we know The Police Tour Fan Club members are by far the band's biggest supporters (and have waited over 23 years to see the band!), this is the band's way of saying thank you to the fan club for their loyalty and patience. This will be an extremely special show as only certain areas of GM Place will be sold, so the venue will be kept as intimate as possible." Well, after reading this, I knew I had to be there. So I bought my tickets, and made the trek to Vancouver. I felt a little like Richard Dreyfuss in Close Encounters...drawn by a force even I could not understand. Turns out I wasn't alone, as 4000 fan club members joined me last night for a Close Encounter of The Police kind. It was phenomenal! Filmed 27 May 2007 at GM Place - Vancouver, British Columbia. Here is "King of Pain", from the 1983 release, "Synchronicity". Keywords: Club, Fan, GM, King, of, Pain, Place, Police, Vancouver |
