I directed this video in '98, The concept came out after a couple of brainstorming sessions with Mos and Kweli. We decided to do the $1 van concept, picking up all our frinds and artist of the times. You will see in there cameos by Comon, Jeru the Damaja, Pharaoh Monk and many more. It was a beautiful summer day in brookly and the 35mm film and warm filters gave it that nostalgic quality that this video has. We hooked up a camera rig in the front of the van and there we went. Driving around in Flatbush Ave, and all around brooklyn. As we saw things that we like, we would stop and record. This video was edited by my boy JJ Lask, one of the dopest editors in the business.
