Malverde - Mi Amor
|
Rare is the artist that can rap about the deep love between a man and woman rather than just carnal lust. Rarer still is the music video that displays that deep passion as ageless, timeless and enduring forever. After attacking certain contemporary issues affecting Latinos - War (Este Camino), Brooklyn-LA Urban Life (Aqui Estamos), Malverde and director Daniel Hastings of www.atomicuscreativegroup.com team up again to speak on a subject that is deeply held by Latinos, if not everyone: Eternal Love. In the music video for "Mi Amor," Malverde stands underneath an aqua sky and raps straight from his heart about his lifelong passion for the woman he met as a boy, embraced as a young man, and with who he grew old, "I wouldn't want to be without you" , "Will you be mine until the end." Even better, he raps that she is his lifelong friend, "Always been friends, my love." Exquisitely filmed to look like one is flipping through a family photo album, "Mi Amor" uses the imagery of lush, green crops and field workers in authentic "Campesino" costumes to honor Malverde's family heritage of Latino field workers that settled in Coachella, California in the early 1940s. But Malverde's lyrics and the music video do more than just that. "Mi Amor" pays tribute to the legacy of true love--that passion, respect and friendship between two people can long endure, endure eternally like a luminous blue sky or the verdant land itself. - Katharyn Bond (writer/producer) Keywords: hip, hop, latino, malverde, daniel, hastings, amor, latina, beautiful, 50, most, mas, bella, people, espanol, real |
