Carrie Underwood wins big at ACM awards

Hello, I'm Rebecca Field with a UPI entertainment update on this Wednesday, May 16, 2007.

Last night's Academy of Country Music Awards honored some of the biggest country stars. Former "American Idol" contestant Carrie Underwood scored 3 awards...Album of the Year, female singer of the year and video of the year. Brad Paisley grabbed male singer of the year. Kenny Chesney took his third consecutive win for entertainer of the year. And George Strait won song of the year for "Give it Away." The country pair Brooks and Dunn were honored as the Top Vocal Duo. They also received the Humanitarian award for their work in the community.

"Greys Anatomy" actress Kate Walsh is engaged. People magazine says Walsh will marry her boyfriend Alex Young who's a production co-president at 20th Century Fox. The actress says he popped the question last week in San Francisco. Walsh got some other exciting news recently...she'll be starring in her own "Grey's" spinoff in the fall.

Actress Denise Richards and rocker Richie Sambora have called it quits. Richard's rep says they broke up about two months ago. Despite the breakup, the actress still showed her support for Sambora at his father's funeral last month. The two started dating in April of 2006 after they both went through a divorce.

"Married With Children" star David Faustino faces charges of drug possession and disorderly intoxication. The actor, know for his role as Bud on the show, was reportedly arrested in Florida over the weekend. Police say an officer saw him arguing with his ex-wife on the street. The couple admitted to drinking before the fight. Police then found marijuana in the actor's pocket.

There may be a budding romance between actors Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson. One source tells People magazine the two were getting cozy at a concert in Hollywood Monday night. The observer says they had their hands all over each other and kissed several times. The two also reportedly spent Easter together.
