Hi I'm Rebecca Field with today's UPI entertainment update on this Wednesday, April 30, 2008.

Injured "Dancing With the Stars" contestant Cristian de la Fuente is suffering from more than just a muscle cramp. The Chilean star announced last night he ruptured a tendon in his left bicep during Monday's performance. De la Fuente says he'll need surgery, but his doctor agreed to postpone the operation so the actor and his partner, Cheryl Burke, can continue competing. Actress Shannon Elizabeth was eliminated last night.

Meanwhile, former "Dancing With the Stars" duo Mario Lopez and Karina Smirnoff are defending their off-stage romance, squashing recent rumors that they are calling it quits. Smirnoff tells People Magazine she and Lopez are still "going on strong" and says she isn't moving out of Lopez's Los Angeles home. The professional dancer and her current on-screen partner, R&B artist Mario, are still competing for this season's title.

CSI star Gary Dourdan is facing drug possession charges. The Palm Springs Police Department issued a statement saying Dourdan was "disoriented" when they found him in his car on the wrong side of the street Monday. Police say the actor had cocaine, heroin, ecstasy and prescription drugs in his possession. Dourdan was released on $5,000 bail...his arraignment is scheduled for May 28.

Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and their four children are spending the next several months in France. The family reportedly plans to stay put through the summer when Jolie's baby is due. The actress has apparently started searching for a hospital where she can give birth. In the meantime, the family is relaxing at Microsoft cofounder Paul Allen's home on the French Riviera. Two of Jolie's films are scheduled to open next month at the Cannes Film Festival.

It was a star-studded red carpet last night at the Tribeca Film festival in New York. Matthew Broderick and Brittany Snow showed up for the premiere of their new movie "Finding Amanda." Broderick plays TV writer attempting to help his troubled niece played by Snow. The film is expected to be released in U.S. theaters in June.

That's all for now. Tune in tomorrow for another UPI update.
