Bucky Covington - Real Good Man

I like Bucky.

He has this whole 'Oh Darn-Shucks' thing going on.

"Um, I really just picked this song-- mainly because I just flat-out like it."

Who says that?!

You see contestants come up some 'deep' and 'meaningful' reason for everything they choose to sing, which helps get the Sympathy Votes: It's a song that I used to sing when I was little, it's one of my favorite songs and it has a great message. It was the song playing on the radio the night my puppy died and the same night my babysitter was murdered, that night my dad went to jail.

It's so rare to see someone be 'believably' humble, especially celebrities.

And I never once thought he was the worst!

Infact, I thought he'd be the dark-horse to win the whole thing.

The Country Girl won last year.

Why not the Country Boy?

I think this was the first performance in the Top 12 Bucky gave that I felt like stopped trying to simply 'sing' and did what he felt was good at.

It worked.

It's only because Country music is his strong point that he had a little bit of a rough start; nobody said bad things about Kellie Pickler... and I thought SHE was weaker vocally.

Although he does tend to do this 'gargly-bark' thing when he tries to sound Country-Rock.

I LOVE when he starts off the song with that first line and everybody screams, specially this one dude with an obvious southern 'yee-haw' accent.

And he looks good with his Cowboy shirt and matching hat.... he looks Real Good.
