This is the original version of Theme One, written and produced by George Martin as the theme tune to BBC Radio 1, it has since been covered by many other artists, most notably by Cozy Powell and Van Der Graaf Generator. Before the advent of 24 hr. radio broadcasting this tune was used as the opening theme every morning at the start of broadcasting, it was also used as the theme tune to Radio1's "Friday night is music night" programme.
