A spec music video slash short film directed by Matthew Cherry for Jazmine Sullivan's song "In love With Another Man" off her debut CD Fearless. This videos stars Kwame Patterson from the hit TV series The Wire and CSI: NY as The Other Man, Kimberly Woods from the CW television series Girlfriends and The Game as The Girlfriend, Michael Moss from the hit stage play Monster and viral online series Purple Stuff TV as The Boyfriend with appearances by Lorielle Broussard creator of the Ba-Rack The Vote and Yotown clothing lines and model/actress Sherrae Smith. This video was shot using live concert footage intercut with an original story written and directed by Matthew Cherry.

This video was shot due to the simple fact that I loved it and always wanted to do a spec video. I have directed videos for established artists already but there was something about creating a visual for a song that I liked that I knew the label wouldn't make a viudeo for that always intrigued me. This shoot was hard and challenging, especially given the fact that we did it with no money and a thousand favors but I am proud of it and feel that it came out nicely. This video was shot with a Panasonic DVX 200a with the Red Rock Lens Adapter to give it the film look and shallow depth of field that you see here.

To give you a little background on how this video came to pass, I heard the song a couple months back and immediately thought that it would be a perfect song to recreate a visual for. I wanted to open up the floodgates to try to answer the question. Why do people cheat? Sometimes its because your significant other is not meeting your needs and sometimes there is no reason at all. Sometimes shit just happens. Like the lyrics of the song say "I can't explain why it's him and not you, and at the end of the day I really don't want to". Sometimes passion overcomes all things and you are forced to deal with the consequences.
