Baseball wanted to get as much money out of him as they could before they dropped the hammer. I'm willing to bet anything this was lined up before the home run chase, but hey...why stop your cash flow. Bud Selig comes to the press all giddy that they made a record 6 billion in the last year, on the same day Bonds gets indicted. You know that was all planned. It's a slap in the face to Barry. He brought them a ton of revenue. Dude is guilty most likely, but any outcry from any fan or media not in support of him is hypocritical. Completely singled out here. I've ranted on this before, but here we are again.

I think lying under oath is what got him. Perjury is not really all that cool. Feds really crack down on that stuff. Ask Scooter or Bill Clinton.

Could have just admitted he took steroids back in 2003 when he was under oath. Like Giambi did. Would have been granted immunity.

Barry's ego wouldn't let him, now he's lookin at 30 years max. Plus, Barry has tested positive. For amphetamines and anabolic steroids.

"So, I got to ask, Mr. Bonds," a federal prosecutor said during the grand jury proceedings, according to the indictment, "there's this number associated on a document with your name, and corresponding to Barry B. on the other document, and it does have these two listed anabolic steroids as testing positive in connection with it. Do you follow my question?"

Bonds replied that he did.

"So, I guess I got to ask the question again, I mean, did you take steroids? And specifically this test [in November of 2000]. So, I'm going to ask you in the weeks and months leading up to November 2000, were you taking steroids?"

Bonds responded, "No."

But innocent until proven guilty.
