West Coast Vaccine is the long-awaited follow up to the 2004 album The Street Novelist. For those not familiar with Turf Talk, his nasal voice may take some getting used to, but the man changes up his flow constantly. He has countless different styles and makes for a thoroughly entertaining listen. The production is simply incredible. Rick Rock and Droop-E handle most of it, and they do a great job with help from a few other producers. The sound is generally less hyphy dominant than his last album (which was also great, but not touching this one). The beats on this album mix old and new to make a sound which is often highly innovative and consistently dope from front to back. Rick Rock in particular needs to be commended for his work here, the man is a vet and he just keeps getting better. When I first heard this a week ago I was pretty sure I found my favorite album of '07 so far. After letting it sink in I'm sure of it. Even if you don't keep up with Bay Area rap or don't think you like hyphy you should still check this one out. Besides two pointless skits and one borderline-skippable track this album is pure fire. A must cop.

OVERALL: 4.5/5

I'm gonna need an upload of this album because I seriously doubt anything hyphy can be 4,5/5

Its up.

And like I said, a lot of this album isn't really typical hyphy. It has something for everybody.

I stand by my initial comment. This album was just as bland as I had expected. A few good tracks but mostly really boring

Hyphy = Crunks ugly cousin
