I bought a couple SL-1200MK5's a while back. I am a newbie and don't know much. I moved into my new place and when I set them up one is not working right. Basically it always skips. I have tried many different needles and different records and it still skips. I have tried these same needles and records on the other one and it works fine. The weight and height and anti-skating are set the same on both. So does anyone have any clues as to why this guy always skips? Nothing looks broken. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

anti-skate always at 0, height of the tonearm depends on what needle youre using... might be a platter issue.

Take it to Audiolines in Chicago. Clark & Belmont. They also do free estimates. If it's a platter problem then they should be able to fix if for a decent price.

Here's the #: 773.281.6007 or http://www.audiolines.com
