http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0462499/If you want to see some blood and guts go flyin, and things blow up like crazy, this is the movie for you. Almost like an 80's throwback, Rambo is all entertainment, light on depth. It's a good thing, because this is exactly what I expected. I was in the mood to see some violence, and I was pleased Sly Stallone (who directed as well as stared for those completely unaware) didn't hold ANYTHING back. This was a blood bath to the fullest. Dudes gettin blown up to pieces, body parts flyin, arrows merkin dudes in the head, it had it all. Sly said he wanted to show the inhuman ways of man through this flick, and it's pretty inhuman. Sometimes it's really over the top, but that's what Rambo has come to be. That's what I expected. The story itself was alright, but it's just one of those stories that sets up for action scenes. Super-evil army in Burma...missionaries sent in to help the people getting abused (complete with good lookin woman)...missionaries get captured...then Sly and a few mercenaries step in and take shit over. It's been done a million times before, but this is still one of those movies you can enjoy if you are in it for the action. My only gripe is I wish there was more to it. This is only about 80 minutes long. I wanted more action. More blood. More Rambo slicin' dudes up to that deep drum music. Still enjoyable though. Don't take it that seriously and you'll have a good time.
