I found out over this last week that they cover hell of songs...
KRS One...
Summertime in the LBC - Summertime by Sam Cooke
Jailhouse - Jailhouse, obscure Bob Marley single
2 joints is a cover, but I don't know who

enways, they played everthing with style, true covers not copies.

Sublime basically bit the crust off old school ska and reggae off the island and made it accessible to the suburbs....

...shit's old, son.

So were all the bands they bit off. Go back and listen to who he gives props to in the ends of his CDs. Then talk to Filthy's cousin.

Well, at least they decided to give those bands their due credit, so I don't know what the issue is.

And every band/artist "bites." Styles and different genres had to come from somewhere, right? To me, it's how those artists flourish in the style of music that they're influenced by.

I agree. But, they are one of the nicest, feel good bands ever. I'd say, they've done quite well with the amount of styles and original tracks they have sampled, seeing as a lot of the kids that dug Sublime earlier on may not have known much about some of the hip hop/reggae/ska music that Sublime help put out there. They added a lot of their own shit to that music without actaully butchering its originality, IMO. Big Up's to 'em. Peace to Brad. Anyone like Long Beach Dub All Stars? :D

who cares if it's already been done.damn near everything has already been done.hardly anyone is completely original these days.it's all about combining your influences these days.there's really only so much you can do with music.
