What are your thoughts on this genre of music? Which artists that fit this particular genre are you feeling at the moment?

I'm feeling that new Angie Stone joint Snoop is on, "I Wanna Thank Ya"

Also feeling Res, Amel Larrieux, Lucy Pearl (though, they were short lived :( ) Raphael Saadiq, Les Nubians and more of Goapele's stuff too.

Love it. If I had the choice of 5 artist to sign on a label, Amel would definately be one. Res is also the shit. All the "neo-soul" shit is dope.

I hate it, too "coffee shop" for my tastes. Granted, there are some artists that deserve their praise, but many of them take the "rap and bullshit" side of R&B and run with it.

I like alot of the music classified under, "Neo Soul" but never particularly like this title. But yeah, word to Joss Stone totally ruining that already lame White Stripes song.

Yea, I'm most definitely feelin Neo-Soul. Love D'Angelo, Angie Stone, Amel (GORGEOUS voice- from "Tell Me" to "Get Up" to "For Real"... wonderful!), Vivian Green, Jill Scott (indeed She IS Golden), Kindred (oooh! Love Is A-LIVE.. on stage, that is lol)... Erykah.

I have such an immense amount of respect for Erykah Badu.. .but the front cover of her new album states: "Neo Soul Is Dead" :( I was real disheartened by that, but I think that may have sumthin to do with her refusing to be pigeonholed... she didnt have to attempt to assassinate it entirely, tho... :wink:

I've heard of Kem, but haven't really listened to any of his stuff recently, jut know he's gotta lotta love from those that have... 8)

Wooo, D'Angelo, I almost forgot! That Brown Sugar album is grind music. Jill Scotts latest jam, "Golden" IS golden! I haven't seen that new Badu that you speak of though, will check it out. Have always dug her music/style.
