Legendary L.A. DJ Robert Cory a.k.a. DJ Rob passed away last week at the age of 27. He was struggling for years with a horrible case of leukemia. DJ Rob One finally disclosed the information that he was in fact fighting for his life. DJ Rob One was first introduced to Hip Hop when he got into graffiti in 1983. From then on Hip Hop became an important part of his life. He used to host a very successful radio show in L.A. at CSUN (Cal State University Northridge) called "The Fly ID Show."

Rob's invoment with Hip Hop heads on the streets pointed him in the direction of getting a job with EMI handling national mix show radio promotions. One of his most successful records that he broke was D'Angelo's "Brown Sugar."

Rob One was very involved with the scene in L.A. He used to spin at various shows and clubs across the Southland. Plus, DJ Rob One was an employee of the famous Beat Non Stop on Melrose Blvd. He was also a member of the underground group called the Shape Shifters. In addition, he was part of the infamous graffiti crew called CBS (California Bomb Squad.) Furthermore, he owned a management company called No Pounds Management. So, he had a lot of invoment with the local Hip Hop scene in L.A.

There will be a DJ Rob One benefit show in Alahambra to cover his hospital bills. Please show support toward this benefit, so there can be enough money raised to cover the costs of Rob One's death.
