BallerStatus.com: How did you get signed with Collipark? Soulja Boy: Well, a DJ gave Collipark one of my singles and he liked it, so he went to my MySpace and he saw how many hits I had. Everybody knew who I was. He called me and came down the same week and signed me. BallerStatus.com: What was your reaction when you saw him? Soulja Boy: I was sitting in my house on the computer and my Dad was like, it's a limo outside. I thought he was playing. I was like "Whoa!" It was a funny feeling I can't explain. BallerStatus.com: It was like a dream? Soulja Boy: Yeah. BallerStatus.com: How long have you been doing music? Soulja Boy: I been doing music for three years. BallerStatus.com: How old are you? Soulja Boy: I'm 17. I just turned 17 on July 28th. BallerStatus.com: How did you get involved in music? Soulja Boy: At first, I was just playing with it. Then, I started taking it seriously after I put my first song up and the response it was getting. I was like "Whoa, I could do this for real." You see where I'm at today. BallerStatus.com: You produce your own music? Soulja Boy: Yeah. I produced my own album. BallerStatus.com: You got any plans to produce some other people's albums? Soulja Boy: Yeah. My new artist's coming soon on Collipark music. His name is VIP. He just got his record deal through Warner Bros. I produced his first single called "Can You Feel It?" The record is crazy. It's going to be a good look. BallerStatus.com: What happen with you and the group 30/30 Boys? Soulja Boy: It wasn't really a group. It was just me and my partner Arab. He is my hype man on the road. BallerStatus.com: How did you come up with the dance? Soulja Boy: The dance. It's half and half. The yuaaaa. I been doing that for a while. BallerStatus.com: What does the "yuaaaa" mean? Soulja Boy: Yuall is when you see something tight or something you like. BallerStatus.com: Okay, what were you saying about the dance? Soulja Boy: The lean with it comes from DJ Unk. The yuaaa, it just all comes together. BallerStatus.com: When you see Beyonce doing it, how does it make you feel? Soulja Boy: It makes me feel real good, especially somebody as big as Beyonce. When I seen Samuel Jackson doing it, that was crazy. He one of my favorite actors. That just shows the love they have for me. I'm appreciative for it. BallerStatus.com: Did you expect it to blow up like this? Soulja Boy: Nah, I didn't know. I knew I was going to get people my age to do it. But when I saw people like Keyshia Cole doing it and Beyonce. I didn't know it was going to get that big. BallerStatus.com: What are your plans for the album? Soulja Boy: My album dropping October 2nd, SouljaBoyTellEm.com. I'm doing my promo run for the album. I'ma have everybody cranking Soulja Boy. BallerStatus.com: What's your next single you're releasing? Soulja Boy: My next single is called "Yahh." It's the second official single. We just shot my next video for "Snap" and "Roll/Let Me Get Em'." That's the single that is going to be bubbling. It's an unofficial single. BallerStatus.com: What's the mood of the album? Soulja Boy: The mood of the album is unpredictable. We got comedy records, R&B, we got party records. It's everything. BallerStatus.com: What do you think is going to make you prominent among other artists like Hurricane Chris? Soulja Boy: My fan base. I'm one million strong on Myspace. We got sold out concerts in every city. Now that I do got my record deal, I'm just going to capitalize on it. I got a following behind me. Once I drop it's gonna be good. You already see what the single doing. You will see the difference between me and other rappers.
