n what has become the ongoing behind Donda West's untimely death, a new person has stepped forward. Dr. Donda West's hairstylist, Charlay Thomas, has released a phone message from West that talks about her upcoming surgery.
Thomas played the voicemail for Inside Edition, where West sounds excited and happy about the surgery. She'd called Thomas to ask if she could get her hair cornrowed before her operation. "I just decided at the last minute that it would be nice if my hair were cornrowed," West said in a message left on Thomas' voicemail. West is also heard saying that she's "getting everything done from my neck to my knees."
But Thomas wasn't home at the time and missed the message. Donda West called back, saying "There is somebody else that I was going to ask to braid my hair, but I don't prefer them. I prefer you. So, it's now 1:30. I'm hoping you are going to get this call soon, and that you can call me back. If not, I guess we're just gonna have to do it next time."
Thomas says she was devastated to find out that West had died. "I'm still shocked and I'm devastated and I wished I could've picked up that phone that last day she called me." She also says that Donda shared with her that Kanye was not happy about his mother having cosmetic surgery.
Dr. Donda West died after having the surgery and just 24 hours after leaving the voice mails. While the cause of death is still unknown, it's been speculated that complications from plastic surgery was responsible for her death. West was buried last Tuesday in her hometown of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
