Florida rapper Plies recently lost a lawsuit in Alabama when a default judgment was awarded to a concert promoter who claims that the rapper failed to show for a July concert.

According to the Montgomery Advertiser, Patrick Monifston of P Entertainment Promotions won the judgment after Plies and his manager David Gay failed to appear in court.

In the suit filed on July 16 (see "Concert Promoter Files Suit Against Plies For No-Show"), Monifston claimed that the Fort Meyers, Florida rapper was scheduled to perform on July 8th in Montgomery, Alabama, but failed to show, leaving at least 1,500 fans hanging.

When concertgoers were told that Plies would not be performing, fights broke out, causing thousands of dollars in damages to the club, reported the paper.

The promoter sued Plies for breach of contract as well as slander, after Plies reportedly made disparaging comments about him on radio station WZHT Hot 105 a day after his scheduled performance.

During the radio interview, the rapper claimed that he was not paid to perform, and that Monfistson and/or his company should refund the money to concertgoers.

While terms of the judgment were not revealed, Monifston said it was at least $11,000, which would cover the amount he spent to bring Plies to Montgomery, as well as the damages the club sustained.
