Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea was one the people hit hard this weekend when a fire ripped through Malibu for the second time in just over a month. Flea's $4.8 million home "burnt to a crisp" according to a text message the bassist sent out. His was one of the 49 homes lost in the area in the blaze as of 5:00 PM PST Sunday night.

The LA Times report: Michael Balzary, a.k.a. Flea, had purchased a home for more than $10 million in Malibu last year, but the house that burned was another he owned in the hills west of Corral Canyon. That French country-style home is listed for sale for $4.8 million on the website of real estate firm Pritchett-Rapf & Associates.
