US R&B star Ne-Yo has been dropped from his co-headlining tour with R Kelly after just two shows.

According to reports, Ne-Yo was told that he would no longer be performing on the Double-Up tour on Monday evening (November 19th).

In a statement issued yesterday (November 20th), Ne-Yo said: "I am disappointed that I won't be able to perform for my fans. I love being on stage in front of fans because of the immediate feedback you get."

He added: “You know right away if they are feeling you; and they were really feeling our show."

It's claimed that the performer was dropped from the tour following contract disputes with the promoter.

A spokesperson for R Kelly said that Ne-Yo’s departure had nothing to do with his client, who previously fell out with Jay-Z during a joint tour.

"Ne-Yo's departure from the 'Double Up' tour was the result of a contractual issue between him and the tour promoter. R. Kelly had nothing to do with it,” reports AP.
