West Coast based rapper, Xzibit, has announced that he will join the cast of director Oliver Stone's war drama "Pinkville."

According to Reuters, the film will center around the infamous My Lai massacre of more than 500 people by U.S. soldiers during the Vietnam War in 1968.

Xzibit (real name: Alvin Joiner) is set to play a soldier who is convinced he carried out his orders in a moral way.

The rapper joins a cast that includes Bruce Willis, Channing Tatum and Woody Harrelson.

"Pinkville" is expected to begin production next year.

Xzibit's film credits include "Gridiron Gang," "Derailed" and "XXX: State of the Union."
