Boisterous, self proclaimed ‘King of Crunk' Lil Jon is prepping his long awaited blend album Crunk Rock for a 2008 release and says it won't be all rhymes & heavy metal.
"Half of the album is going to be fusion rap and rock stuff, and half of it is going to be the stuff they normally know me from," says the producer/rapper behind such hits as Usher's ‘Yeah!' and ‘Snap Yo Fingers.'
In the mean time Lil Jon's homecoming to the wheels of steel, over the summer at clubs in Australia and Las Vegas, has him exhaling. The mini-tour also inspires two ‘Rock Box' mixtapes helmed by himself and DJ Spider.
"It became a job, because I was so busy...I had to support too many acts," Lil Jon reveals. "I took a break, and now I'm having fun again. That's why I started DJing again - it got me back to my core."
The two sets feature Guns N' Roses, Joan Jett, Nirvana, plus New Wave acts Frankie Goes to Hollywood and Gary Numan.
Lil Jon is producing a cartoon entitled ‘A-Town,' which reportedly may premiere on comedian Will Ferrell's video website, FunnyorDie.com. The BME recordings founder is also scheduled to lend his distinctive vocals, via a Santa Claus character, to
the Christmas special for Andre 3000's Cartoon Network show, "Class of 3000."
