New details emerged in the still unsolved slaying of Run DMC's Jam Master Jay recently, which may lead to the killer's identity.
See Also:In a recent interview with the New York Daily News, longtime business partner to the slain DJ, Ray Allen, revealed that the gunman behind the murder had a tattoo on his neck. The murder of Jam Master Jay (real name: Jason Mizell) is nearly five years old and remains unsolved much like the deaths of other rap icons such as Tupac Shakur and the Notorious B.I.G., leaving the hip-hop industry in shock. Allen gave the paper a detailed account of the evening of the murder, breaking down Jay's last moments alive, which he says were spent recording music and playing video games. In the studio were Rusty Waters, a group that were recording, Allen and his sister Lydia High, and friend Tony Rincon, who was playing video games with Jay before two gunmen entered the studio. One tattooed gunmen reportedly slapped hands with Jay moments before he fired at him. He missed, hitting Rincon in the leg, but the second shot tore through the back of Jay's head. Although Washington was identified by federal prosecutors in April as one of the gunmen involved in Jay's murder (see "spect To Be Charged In Jam Master Jay Murder"), he has yet to be charged.
