R&B singer and hip-hop superstar Nas' wifey, Kelis, was recently dropped from Jive Records. Entertaintment Weekly (EW) was given the news by the singer's manager, Jeff Rabhan, who said she just didn't fit in at Jive. "It was a case of being in the ever-shrinking world of the record industry and finding herself on a label she wasn't signed to and without a champion," said Rabhan. "She's a different kind of artist -- very image and style-driven. It's either something you get or you don't." Kelis' 2003 album, Tasty, spawned the massive crossover hit, "Milkshake," but she was unable to garner the same success with her follow up, Kelis Was Here, in 2006. The album did, however, enjoy success via the hit single, "I"m Bossy," but not on the scale of "Milkshake." Rabhan revealed to EW that Kelis is currently working on two new projects: one is an indie dance record with Gnarls Barkley frontman Cee-Lo, while the other is a pop effort with Guy Chambers (Robbie Williams). Both, he said, will be shopped to labels soon. Although a major label is an option, Rabhan said it "would have to be non-traditional."
