Virginia rap duo The Clipse recently revealed that they have severed ties with Jive Records and have signed with Columbia Records. Malice and Pusha T divulged to Billboard that they have inked a five year deal with Columbia which holds a 50/50 profit-sharing arrangement for their imprint, Re-Up Gang Records. The Re-Up Gang imprint is also home to rappers Ab Liva and Sandman. The aforementioned rappers together with The Clipse have generated a major buzz as The Re-Up Gang in the mixtape scene. The Clipse plan to drop a Re-Up Gang project and their third album next year. The Clipse say their next album will not be entirely produced by The Neptunes, who have handled work behind the boards for the duo's two albums. The Clipse plan to work with Timbaland, Danjahandz and Dame Grease. This marks the second major rap acquisition on Columbia since Rick Rubin, Def Jam co-founder and legendary producer, took an executive spot at the label. Related Videos:
