Pete Rock

Following up on 2004's Soul Survivor II CD, veteran hip-hop producer Pete Rock is marking his return with a new album, NY's Finest.

The legendary producer/rapper, who has been busying himself as of late by producing tracks for Talib Kweli and Ghostface Killah, is ready to throw his hat back into the ring with another solo effort. The record, which will be a joint venture between his own Soul Survivor Records and indie imprint Nature Sounds, features production from the Chocolate Boy Wonder himself and a heavy guest list of East Coast MC spots by Jim Jones, Raekwon, Masta Killa, Redman, Papoose, Max B and D-Block

The album's lead single, "We Roll," featuring Dipset capo Jim Jones and Max B, was recently released to selected radio outlets. The record also features the Yonkers posse cut "914" featuring Styles P and Sheek Louch as well as the Wu-Tang collaboration "The PJ's" featuring Raekwon and Masta Killa.

NY's Finest is slated for a February 2008 release.
