Los Angeles-based hip-hop group performed live for the first time at the Palace Grounds in the city as part of their Blue-Black tour. Group members Fergie and Williams sang tracks from their solo albums in front of fans, who had gathered from across the country and abroad. "We are just waiting for them to come and perform and yes I am very excited," said Kavya, a Blue Eyed Peas fan. "We flew in this morning and we fly out tonight, we have spent our life savings to come to this concert here," said foreign tourists Marc and Zora. First hitting the big leagues with the 1998 album Behind The Front, the Black Eyed Peas have earned accolades for their unique mix of pop, dance and hip-hop influenced by global rhythms and sounds. It was however the breakthrough album of 2003, Elephunk that catapulted the band into worldwide fame.After participating at the Live Earth concert in London, followed by the group's performance at Tokyo and Osaka, the band has been on a whirlwind 13-country tour.
