The singer was shot by thieves in Johannesburg on Thursday night - in front of his two children. He was 43. The murder has stunned the country's lawmakers, prompting a call from top South African politicians to clamp down on the "barbaric and senseless" deaths that have become commonplace in and around Johannesburg in recent years. African National Congress party leader Smuts Ngonyama says, "Brutal crimes such as these once more remind us... of the need to join hands with our law enforcement agencies and forge a bold front against crime."
