Roc-A-Fella Records co-founders, Dame Dash and Kareem "Biggs" Burke, revealed Monday (October 15) that they will release a Reasonable Doubt tribute album, which is exclusively available through their new social networking website, BlockSavvy.com.
The forthcoming album, titled Beyond A Reasonable Doubt, will pay tribute to their one time partner by way of several other artists remaking some of Jay-Z's classics album cuts.
According to Dash, the album was crafted long before he sold his stake in the label to Def Jam Records for a reported $10 million in 2004 (see "Island Def Jam Buys Out Roc-A-Fella Records").
"We made this a while ago when [we still co-owned] Roc-A-Fella," Dame told MTV.
The founders revealed that artists such as Juelz Santana, the Young Gunz, Rell, Jim Jones, Cam'ron, Kanye West and Beanie Sigel are among those who participated in the project.
There is no plans to release the album in stores as of yet, so until then, it's posted on the duo's website.
"We felt like we might as well, why not?" Dame explained. "I don't know, I'm living more on the virtual/digital side."
