Los Angeles, CA -- August 9, 2007 -- SLAMjamz Records (www.slamjamz.com), one of the most innovative record labels in the music industry, and Musicane (www.musicane.com), an online white-label storefront, announced today that Public Enemy will make its new album available to users of Musicane’s personalized storefront technology.  How You Sell Soul To A Soulless People Who Sold Their Soul, available via traditional retail outlets on August 7th, can now be sold via essentially any personal website, blog, or page on a social network with a portion of each sale retained by the owner of the site.  This groundbreaking offer redefines the music business by making fans a part of the record industry, where they can act as a sub-distributor and retailer while earning 15% of the revenues from their respective stores.

Musicane’s unique technology makes it simple for anyone to build viral storefronts with e-commerce capability that works anywhere on the web. Fans can easily embed storefronts on their personal spaces using Musicane’s upgraded online media transaction service without prior technical knowledge.

“Musicane’s technology enables fans to essentially become partners with their favorite acts, even going so far as sharing in the profits from their albums and songs,” says Dan Lugo, President/General Manager of SLAMjamz.   “It’s an incredibly exciting new phase of the music industry and SLAMjamz, as well as Public Enemy, are pleased to partner with the great people at Musicane and, of course, to share this opportunity with all of our fans/sub-distributors.”

"Public Enemy is an act that has always been proactive in their use of new technology and breaking ground, keeping them fresh over the last 20 years,” says Vikramaditya Jain, President and Co-Founder of Musicane.  “It will be exciting to see their committed fan base get involved, taking over the player and spreading the new album all over the web," says.”

20 years after the release of their astonishing debut album, Public Enemy returns with the provocative How You Sell Soul To A Soulless People Who Have Sold Their Soul (available August 7th).  The group reunited with Bomb Squad member Gary G-Wiz to produce the album, who effortlessly built it out of vintage roots and new fervor.  How You Sell… features KRS-ONE on “Sex, Drugs and Violence” and Redman as special guest producer on “Can You Hear Me Now.”  Public Enemy kicked off a national festival tour this summer at the Rock The Bells concerts inNew York City on July 28th and 29th.  The group will also appear at two more Rock The Bells events, one in San Bernardino (Los Angeles), CA on August 11th and another in San Francisco, CA on August 18th as well make an appearance at the Santa Fe Music Festival on August 10th.   They will also appear on the Jimmy Kimmel Show on August 9th.
