Motorcycle enthusiasts attending the 67th Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota will get a burst of energy, thanks to chart-topping rapper Lil' Jon. The rapper's Crunk!!! Energy Drink has been named official energy drink of The Full Throttle Saloon, known as the world's largest biker bar. The annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally takes place August 6-12 and features rides through the legendary Black Hills and the surrounding area, while hundreds of thousands of bikers attend various concerts during the evening at local bars, including the famed Full Throttle Saloon. Crunk!!! will take over the 30-acre Full Throttle Saloon starting on August 3, offering drink recipes and a VIP section of the stage.
Lil' Jon, born Jonathan Smith, launched Crunk!!! in 2004. After several years of success, Crunk!!! was quietly acquired by Solvi Brands, LLC, a privately held company. "The thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts who attend Sturgis definitely know a thing or two about getting crunk," said Tom Mahlke, CEO, Solvi Brands, holding company of the Crunk !!! brand. "Full Throttle Saloon is known for hot music, hot bikes and cold drinks, and we're excited to add Crunk!!! Energy Drink to this mix and make it the crunkest place to be during Sturgis." The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally was originally launched in 1936. Last year, almost 500,000 people attended the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, helping to city of Sturgis, which has a population of just over 6,000 people, generate over $12 million in taxable sales. Other performers during the week at The Full Throttle Saloon include world reknowned group Molly Hatchet, Saliva (Jay-Z's 'Takeover'), Murder By Death, Powerman 5000, Jackyl, Clutch and others.
