Eminem is going to court and he's dragging The Source magazine with him. According to MTV.com, on January 3 a New York federal court judge ruled that Em's copyright infringement lawsuit against Ray Benzino and Dave Mays will go to trial. The suit was filed when the hip hop mag publicly released early recordings of Mr. Shady calling black women offensive names when he was a teenager. Apparently, it’s not news when “other” rappers call black women offensive names, just when ‘Em does. MTV reports Mays explaining, "This case is about freedom of the press, freedom of speech and the way that he and Shady [Records] have tried to suppress those freedoms." Really? Mays must not have seen Benzino’s “Arch Nemesis” DVD. Last year Eminem said he wanted to squash all beefs, but it look like the saga with The Source will continue well into 2005.
