Room Service Productions, Goldmic, and Ecko Unltd. are bringing two of the finest names in hip hop to the CMJ (College Music Journal) 2004 Conference. This year the showcase is split into two action packed nights. The first showcase, in conjunction with SOB’s Common Ground party, is Wednesday October 13th at SOB's with Detroit's own Slum Village getting busy. The second showcase, Thursday October 14th at BB Kings, will no doubt be the biggest hip hop show of the entire CMJ marathon. Geffen Recording artists Talib Kweli and RES along with Uncle Junior Records artists Kon and Amir will rock the house. Thursday will also feature an MC Battle that will showcase some of the talented MCs that have made a reputation on the up-and-coming battle site, goldmic.com. The battle and entire night will be hosted by legendary producer/DJ Ali Shaheed Muhammad, formerly of A Tribe Called Quest and Lucy Pearl.
