World renowned artist BUA will be signing his posters in front of the USC campus bookstore, located at 840 Childs Way between 9am and 5pm on September 9th. After successful appearances and signings throughout the world, BUA returns to USC to sign his best-selling posters. BUA will also, for the first time ever in San Francisco, be signing his posters at Off The Wall, located at 1669 Haight Street between 2pm and 6pm on September 26th. After successful appearances and signings throughout the world, BUA is finally responding to his fans’ many requests to appear in San Francisco. Such posters as ‘The DJ’, currently the best-selling poster in the college market, ‘Piano Man II’, ‘The Block’ and his newest releases ‘Trumpet Man’ and ‘The MC’ will be on sale at the events.

For over a decade, artist BUA has been making a mark in the art world with his unique style of Distorted Urban Realism, spearheading a new genre of art. Born in NYC’s untamed Upper West Side, BUA was fascinated by the raw, visceral Manhattan street life and found himself spending most of his time hanging out at places like Rock Steady Park and the Douglas Projects. BUA attended the High School of Music and Performing Arts “Fame” and complemented his education on the streets by writing graffiti and performing worldwide with breakdancing crews such as The New York Express and The Dynamic Breakers. BUA went on to the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California where he earned a B.F.A in Illustration.

Fresh out of school, BUA started painting slick bottom boards for the skateboard industry. He quickly made his way into the commercial freelance world where he worked for top record labels and advertising agencies. In 1999, BUA started bringing his characters to life when he conceived, created and wrote “Urbania”, an animated series for Comedy Central. This experience inspired many more projects: the opening title sequence for MTV's “The Lyricist Lounge Show”, the development of characters and backgrounds for the EA Sports video game “NBA Street” and the creation of the world for Slum Village’s video, “Tainted”. BUA recently teamed up with EA Sports again as the visual consultant for their new game, “NFL Street”.

BUA recently launched the BUA shoe in collaboration with PF Flyers, a specialty line by New Balance. After touring and exhibiting his work worldwide (Los Angeles, New York, Paris, London, Tokyo) BUA is back in the US and working on his first apparel line.

BUA is also currenly working on his first book tentatively entitled BUA: The Beat of Urban Art.

BUA’s best-selling artwork is known worldwide. His energetic and vocal fan base ranges from street kids to art connoisseurs. Art is often insular yet BUA's art speaks to the people. As he notes, "My paintings are a reflection of how I and many other people of this generation grew up in this urban, multicultural and hip-hop influenced world. People relate to that."
