LOS ANGELES, CA-- JUNE 6, 2004--The funniest MC in hip-hop, Kool Keith, and his sidekick producer Kutmasta Kurt are collaborating again. Their latest effort, The Diesel Truckers, has a musical style so heavy and powerful, they’re ready to run fools off the road! No doubt this latest offering is just what you’d expect from the pair: Keith roasting industry clowns over Kutmasta Kurt’s futuristic, funky beats. The Diesel Truckers drops on August 10, 2004 on Funky-Ass/Threshold/DMAFT Records and is distributed by Warner Brothers’ ADA Distribution.
See Also:To be sure, Keith’s latest effort won’t disappoint. Both Kool Keith and Kutmasta Kurt have accomplished histories in the hip-hop game. Keith Thornton a.k.a Kool Keith emerged in 1986 as part of the legendary New York crew, the Ultramagnetic MCs. The group quickly established themselves as lyrical innovators with such classics albums as Critical Beatdown, Funk Your Head Up and the Four Horsemen. To the dismay of hip-hop fans, the group disbanded in 1993. In ‘92 Keith met Kutmasta Kurt and by ‘94 they moved to LA together to record music. The result was one classic record after the next, including Doctor Octagon Dr. Octagonecologyst (feat. Dan the Automator and DJ Q Bert), Sex Style, and the Dr. Dooom album “First Come, First Served.” The two have collaborated on various records, and at times even fought like brothers. These days they say truckin’ keeps them on talking terms. So, move over!!! Comin’ up behind you is the mega 18-wheeler Diesel Truckers. Source: DaveyD
