Rapper Xzibit is the host of one of MTV's hottest shows, Pimp My Ride. Recently we asked the rapper to explain how he got involved with the show. He said: "Actually I get all of my cars done at West Coast Customs, so MTV came through and, you know, asked us if we wanted to do the pilot episode. We did the pilot. You know in the focus group, it ranked up there with the Jackass pilot. From there they got excited about it."
See Also:Xzibit added that he believes the show is successful because it is different from other reality shows. He said: "It's a positive show. It actually shows that, you know, somebody is doing something positive for somebody else. Usually reality shows are about, you know, embarrassing or crushing somebody, that's not what it's all about. We having fun with it." In related news, Xzibit is slated to appear on the Monday (May 10) episode of CSI: Miami, which airs at 10 p.m. ET on CBS (check your local listing for channel). He will play a rapper named 10-Large who refuses to cooperate with the police following an attempt on his life, but later evidence suggests that the hit was actually meant for his bodyguard.
