Detroit-based rap act D12 took the No. 1 post on yesterday's (May 2) new U.K. album chart with "D12 World" (Interscope). On the singles tally, Eamon's "F**k It (I Don't Want You Back)" (Jive) extended its run as the region's No. 1 single to a third week.

"D12 World" is the second album for the group, which counts rapper Eminem among its six members. The first, 2001's "Devil's Night," debuted at No. 2 in the U.K. and No. 1 in the United States on The Billboard 200. Released stateside last week, "D12 World" is predicted to sell more than 500,000 copies and debut at No. 1.

D12's arrival on the U.K. album chart pushed Guns N' Roses' "Greatest Hits" (Geffen) down to No. 2.

The chart's only other top 10 debut was a double CD anthology of Britain's most successful instrumental group of all time, the Shadows. The TV-advertised "Life Story" (UMTV) debuted at No. 8. The album covers the band's massive array of U.K. hits between 1958 and 1966, later chart singles and one new instrumental piece.

Jerry Lordan, the composer of the group's debut hit, "Apache", wrote the new song, which serves as the collection's title track. Led by widely influential guitarist Hank B. Marvin, the reunited Shadows will launch a farewell tour in the coming weeks.

Also on the album chart, "Heroes To Zeroes" by the Beta Band (Regal Recordings) entered at No. 18 and a "Turn It On" by Irish favorite Ronan Keating re-entered at No. 24.

On the U.K. singles chart, Eamon held off the challenge of English boy band Busted to retain his lead. "Air Hostess," the third single from Busted's MCA album "A Present for Everyone," debuted at No. 2. The album is certified triple platinum for U.K. shipments of 900,000 copies. Busted has lined up seven big outdoor shows across the country in July.

The Streets, the recording name of Midlands-born rapper Mike Skinner, opened at No. 4 on the singles chart with "Fit But You Know It" (Locked On/679 Recordings). The track is first single from his upcoming sophomore album "A Grand Don't Come For Free."

Also new in the top 10 was "Solitary Man" by Finnish rock act HIM (RCA) at No. 9 and "Sunny" by Boogie Pimps (Data) at No. 10. The Pimps are German DJs Mark J.Klak and Mirko Jacob, whose remake of the Bobby Hebb standard owes much to Boney M's hit cover of 1977.

Anastacia starts a fourth week at No. 1 on European Top 100 Albums with her self-titled Epic set. The American artist's "Left Outside Alone" is No. 2 on Eurochart Hot 100 Singles chart for a fourth week. Usher's "Yeah!" (Arista) tops that list for a sixth week.
