On Tuesday a federal court judge granted Eminem an injunction against the magazine The Source from releasing a CD containing a controversial freestyle recorded by the rapper about a decade ago. Attorneys for Eminem and his Shady Records imprint filed papers for the injunction in Manhattan on Monday, citing copyright infringement. Em is also seeking unspecified damages. Eminem admitted that the freestyle was him and apologized saying he was angry and immature when the song was produced.
The owners of The Source planned on issuing the freestyle on CD which would be included in their February issue, due on newsstands January 13. The issue isn’t expected to be delayed.
