New York, NY August 2002 High Times Records released it’s debut CD, "THC: The Hip Hop Collection Vol. 1," on April 30th. The new imprint launched by the celebrated counterculture magazine, High Times, assembled a 14-song Hip Hop compilation. The disc boasts all new and exclusive material crafted with High Times in mind, by RZA (Wu-Tang Clan), B-Real (Cypress Hill), The Pharcyde, The Beatnuts, The High and Mighty, Afu-Ra and Black Moon.
See Also:The release of the record also marked the launch of the "High Times Hip-Hop Tour". Having begun on the East Coast simultaneously with the release of the LP, the tour picks up again for a 14-date West Coast run in the fall. Artists featured both on the disc and the tour; The Pharcyde, Afu Ra, and The High & Mighty will roll out celebrating "the counter culture". There will be special guests making appearances in select cities.
