Despite facing a prison sentence, Elektra Records are "standing by their man", the Ol' Dirty Bastard, and releasing an album dedicated to him. "Free Dirty" is a compilation of tracks, which ODB recorded throughout his career, with tracks mostly taken from his first two albums, as well as joints he's done with other artists. Expect joints such as "Brookyln Zoo", "Shimmy Shimmy Ya,", "Raw Hide,", "Recognize", "I Can't Wait" and "Got Your Money" to appear on the 12 track album. Also, old collaborations with Mariah Carey and Mystikal will be featured on the album. "Free Dirty" is currently set for an August 21st release date.
See Also:Public Enemy are set to return with a brand new album this autumn, according to Davey D. The as-yet-titled album will be released independantly on Chuck D's "SlamJamz.com" record label. Chuck D has also given the public the chance make the beats over the groups' vocals. Each month, vocals from P.E.'s older hits will be uploaded to their website over at Slamjamz.com for download, which can be downloaded by the visitor and used to make the beats for. The tracks are then uploaded back to Chuck D's site and he will go through each entry, to decide which entries will make the album. Not only will the lucky winners have their tracks featured on the album, but they will also gain royalties from copies sold. In addition to older tracks, the new album will also feature brand new tracks. Should be pretty interesting when the album drops. As reported on Y2Hiphop.com many months ago, J-Live has been working on some brand new joints after the heavy bootlegging of his album-not-to-be, "The Best Part". The album will be released on October 2nd and will be released on J-Live's new home, Coup D'Etat Entertainment.
