According to the latest edition of XXL mag, Killah Priest is to release a new album, as early as July 17th. Two titles have been floating around for Killah Priest's third solo, these being "Heavy Mental 2" and "Priesthood". As Killah Priest said a while back, he was planning to go independant for his future releases and indeed he has, the new album will be released away from former label, MCA Records, on Killah Priest's own Proverbs Music. No word on who appears on the album, but expect the Horsemen to pop up somewhere on the album.

Priority Records, Rawkus Records and Pharaohe Monch all face a lawsuit from Toho Music over the hit track of 1999, "Simon Says". The track which brought Pharaohe Monch from out of the underground uses a sample from the "Godzilla Theme Song", which is owned by Toho Music. Toho Music claims that the sample, which is used in "Simon Says" was used without permission, thus breaking copyright infringement laws. Toho Music are looking to also gain compensation from the use of the sample and are requesting immediate injunction on the copying, distributing and public performance of the track.

It seems that a lot has happened to Naughty By Nature in the last year or so. After leaving Tommy Boy Records to join Arista, they have now again switched labels after the one 1999 release, "19 Naughty 9" on that label. They also lost KayGee as their producer last year after KayGee decided he wanted to go on his own and put out his own artists on his "Dive Mill" imprint. Naughty are now down to two members and have signed a deal with TVT records. Treach and Vinny are already working on their new album, which will be titled "The Rah Rah" and apparently, KayGee did do a few cuts for the group despite his departure from the group. Watch out for the new album in the Autumn.
