Propelled partly by the success of performing on two super tours over the past year ("Up In Smoke" and "Anger Management") and by mass amounts of media attention, Xzibit's newest release Restless, was recently certified platinum by the RIAA on January 24, just six (6) weeks after its release.
See Also:Restless, the first album by Xzibit that's reached platinum status (his first two releases, At The Speed of Life [1996] and 40 Dayz and 40 Nightz [1998] were both critically acclaimed) debuted at # 1 on Billboard's "Top R&B Albums" chart. For the past few weeks the album has outsold other hot rap acts such as Lil' Bow Wow, Memphis Bleek, Jay-Z and Nelly. "We are thrilled with the success of this album to date. We are just getting started and so is Xzibit as he goes back on the road to do what he does best," exclaims Steve Rifkind, CEO Loud Records. Xzibit is currently on a European Tour with Eminem promoting Restless. Once he returns from Europe, he will go on tour across the country headlining the House of Blues dates and other venues with label mates and fellow Likwit crew members Tha Liks and Eminem's new group, D12 opening up. He will also perform some dates on the Outkast/Ludacris tour (noted by OK). Touring starts in Chicago at the House of Blues on February 27 and ends on April 11 at House of Blues in Los Angeles. Check for "Been A Long Time" featuring Nate Dogg, the second single to be released off of Restless. His new DVD Restless Xposed covers X on tour last year, giving the viewer never-seen-before footage and a peak into life on the road. It will be released in the spring.
