Brooklyn based rapper Mos Def is making music with a super funk rock band in Massachusetts. The rhythm section from the Black rock band Living Colour, P-Funk keyboard maestro Bernie Worrell and Bad Brains guitarist Dr. Know comprise the group called Jack Johnson. Johnson was the first Black heavyweight champion of the world, who offended white racists with his skill and marriages to white women. Maybe the band will upset the sensibilities of certain listeners. A publicist for Mos Def told MTV News that the album has an anticipated release for late spring.
