New York's Beacon Theater turned into pop star central Tuesday night (Nov. 21), as Levi's and MTV co-sponsored music industry AIDS organization LIFEbeat's "Music With A Message: World AIDS Day 2000" benefit concert. 98 Degrees, Jessica Simpson, Mya, Outkast, the Corrs, and Baha Men all performed live at the third-annual benefit concert to raise awareness for LIFEbeat's "Zero Transmission" campaign.

Co-host Pink strutted her stuff to the delight of the audience with a high-energy performance of "Most Girls." But things really got funky when Outkast took the stage. The duo performed "Rosa Parks" from its last album "Aquemini" as well as current chart-climber "Ms. Jackson." Mya flexed her vocal pipes with her red-hot new single, "Case Of The Ex (Whatcha Gonna Do)," as well as a medley of past hits. Simpson offered a run through her John Mellencamp-sampling "I Think I'm In Love With You," after which 98 Degrees closed the show with selections from their latest album, "Revelation." The boy band brought the crowd to its feet with the recent chart hit "Give Me Just One Night (Una Noche)." In addition to the performances, actress Laura Prepon (Fox's "That '70s Show"), model Veronica Webb, and "Howard Stern" producer Gary Dell'abate all expressed thoughts on the important cause and why people of all ages should take an active role in preventing the spread of AIDS. As an extension of "Music With A Message," Levi's will donate $1 for every fan that logs on to www.levi.com from Dec. 1-7. By logging on to the site, fans will not only contribute to the cause, but will be entered for a chance to win Levi's gear autographed by the evening's performers. The show, hosted by Pink and MTV's Dave Holmes, was recorded for broadcast on MTV on Dec. 1, the 13th anniversary of World AIDS Day.
