Michelle Williams turned heads at the Cannes Film Festival this week by making her first red carpet appearance since Heath Ledger's January death.
On Thursday night, the 27-year-old glowed in a lacy vintage Chanel couture frock while promoting her flick Wendy and Lucy. (The film focuses on a woman's adventures as she drives with her dog Lucy to Alaska.)
"Some people said tonight it was a transcendent performance," a rep for the film told UK Marie Claire. "It's about things going on around her and she's just she's trying to go forward and things are not working out for her. You see her taking care of herself first, which is exactly what we must do."
Friday afternoon, she dressed more casually for a photo call her other film, the comedy Synecdoche, New York. See more red carpet pics here.
Williams has been keeping herself busy with work.
She will return to Boston shortly to resume filming the Martin Scorsese thriller Shutter Island, which co-stars Leonardo DiCaprio.
Also keeping her on her toes? Two-year-old daughter Matilda, whom she had with the late actor.
"I am the mother of the most tender-hearted, high-spirited, beautiful little girl who is the spitting image of her father," Williams said after his death.
"All that I can cling to is his presence inside her that reveals itself every day," she added.
