LONDON - British singer Amy Winehouse has won a prestigious song-writing award.
The song "Love Is a Losing Game" won the Ivor Novello award for best song musically and lyrically at a ceremony Thursday in London. Her father, Mitch Winehouse, went on stage to collect the award after she arrived too late.
Winehouse wrote the song for her "Back to Black" album. Her song "Rehab" from the same album won a Novello award last year.
Boy band Take That also won an award for their comeback song "Shine."
The Ivor Novello awards, given out by Britain's song-writing community, have been in existence for 53 years.
