One of the most memorable moments during Trace Adkins’ run on "The Celebrity Apprentice" came when he was put in charge of a charity concert featuring the Backstreet Boys, who demanded wheatgrass and black fingernail polish be provided in their dressing room. Trace was stunned by the request: He had never even heard of wheatgrass.

"Dude, I’ve got it out the ying-yang," he told The Las Vegas Review-Journal. "Oh, real funny. Big joke. I’m crackin’ a rib laughin’ here." Trace still hasn’t tried wheatgrass. And he tries to keep the focus on another food issue that was the motivation behind him appearing on the Donald Trump reality show. He chose the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network as his charity. Had Trace defeated Piers Morgan for the "Apprentice" championship, he would’ve earned a $250,000 check. As it turned out, the awareness he raised has had even greater benefits. FAAN has "made more money since the show than I would have won had I won the thing," Trace said. "If I had won, I’d have to be Trump’s Miss America and go around with him for the next year promoting The Apprentice. I’ve got a job, and Piers needed one." "Celebrity Apprentice" helped Trace end up on the Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday. He wasn’t nominated for an award, but the show’s executive producer, R.A. Clark, said the visibility from his network TV run made him an attractive addition to the roster of ACM performers.
