Joe Nichols

oe Nichols’ current single "It Ain’t No Crime" celebrates girls and relaxation, but its theme goes even deeper. The lyrics take a stand about choosing how to live, and Joe says that’s a big reason why he recorded it for his "Real Things" album.

"This was one of my favorite songs that I heard," Joe told the national radio show GAC Nights: Live From Nashville. "I think I’d had this song on hold for a long time, and I think everybody [around me] was kinda lukewarm, but the lyric spoke to me. This is a cool lyric, and it says a lot of what I want to say. That’s the attitude I have: If I’m not disrupting anybody else, then why ya gotta disrupt me? This is the way I’m gonna go about things — may be wrong, may be right, doesn’t matter, shouldn’t matter to you."

The song certainly matters to Joe. It’s currently at No. 16 on the Country Aircheck singles chart.
