Joe Nichols

Back in 2000, Alan Jackson released his version of a Hank Williams, Jr. song called "The Blues Man," which Joe Nichols has since adopted as a regular part of his concerts.

Joe's reasons for doing it are personal. He dedicates it every night to his wife, Heather, who is often in the venue to hear his performance.

"It's about a guy that's down on his luck, you know, a lot of self-destruction, and she pulled him out of it," Joe told the national radio show GAC Nights: Live From Nashville. "That's why I dedicate that song to [my wife] every night. About 80 percent of the time, she'll travel with me. She's a tough girl, but sometimes the road is a little long for some people, and she needs a break every now and then."

If you want to see Joe — along with such acts as Tim McGraw, Carrie Underwood, Dierks Bentley and Pat Green — today is your last chance to register for "GAC's Road To Texas Sweepstakes." We're giving away tickets to Country Thunder USA in Waxahachie, Texas, May 30-June 1.
