Common continues to earn his acting chops, and has just signed on for a co-starring role in an upcoming "Terminator" film.
According to Variety, the rapper has been cast in the fourth film of the series dubbed "Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins," alongside actors Christian Bale and Sam Worthington.
The film is said to center around a now 30-something John Connor, who leads the remaining human race in a battle against the machines.
Common is set to play the role of a freedom fighter and member of Connor's inner circle.
McG will direct the film, which is expected for release in May 2009.
Common made his big screen acting debut in the crime film, "Smokin' Aces," alongside Ben Affleck, Jeremy Piven, and Alicia Keys. Since then, he's appeared in "American Gangster" and most recently "Street Kings."
He will next be seen onscreen in "Wanted," starring Angelina Jolie, Morgan Freeman and James McAvoy.
Then, later this summer, he is set to release his eighth album, Invincible Summer.
